Patanjali was a Yogi and Philosopher from 2000-4000BC, as defined by this sutra from this ancient Yoga text, the practice of Yoga gives the student the ability to find union and connection to source, both universally and internally. The student can move towards their true selves by allowing focus on the internal mind, enveloping the activities of our mind. When we practice Yoga we are gathering our thoughts together so that we may find space created by our practice, listen to this space, allow the silence and our inner divine teacher to talk to our quietened minds, enabling this true self to guide our actions and decisions, I like the mantra Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo as a wonderful way to focus on this divine teacher within.


Who I am

I'm Dottir, teacher for Rebearth Yoga, & co-founder of The Rebearth Movement CIC, est 2023, alongside my husband Odin, an injured veteran himself. We're a non profit currently working towards establishing an organic smallholding which will home the provision of free family respite breaks for injured UK veterans & bereaved military families.


I'm studying under Hayley Gummery on her 300hr level 4, British Wheel of Yoga Teacher Training course, and will qualify Dec 2023.my personal mentors and teachers are Caroline Reid and Louisa Williams, both experienced Scaravelli Inspired Yoga Teachers.


I have practiced various schools of yoga for 20 years, with many teachers, hatha, kundalini, ashtanga and now my passion is Scaravelli Inspired Yoga; I'll always remain the eternal Yoga student.


I aim to make Yoga more accessible & will be focusing my continued professional development in working with trauma and mental health, helping those who have experienced trauma of any kind, abuse, combat, illness, generational trauma.


Your lessons will directly be funding the running of our CICs projects and community initiatives.

Rebearth Yoga is a trading name of the Rebearth Movement CIC.

My classes are inspired by Vanda Scaravelli, born 1908, she was a pioneering Yogini, taught Yoga by BKS Iyengar and philosphy by Krishnamurty. Vanda felt she had to find her own way to practice & teach, so took her foundation & developed a practice that is focused on feeling gravity, grounding & connection, finding and creating space along your spine, keeping it healthy & mobile; taking every movement & breath back to feeling your spine & the energy which moves up & down it. This focus on the spine creates a more internal experience that is personal to the student, helping you listen to and learn from your body and heal, receiving & releasing, not holding, pushing, stretching or creating tension. Your body finds the asana and moves with it.


I love to teach Yoga, the true & ancient practice, not just asana (poses), in each class we will cover aspects of the eight limbs of yoga. Together we will be looking at what yoga teaches us about how to conduct our lives & our interactions with others, asana, pranayama & breathing techniques, inner awareness, concentration, meditation & relaxation, working towards experiencing Samadhi, the beautiful blissful state, our yoga practice helps us to reach.

What to expect

Classes

Classes are 90mins. I'm also available for 1:1, private hire events, retreats and workshops for specialist charities with a focus on trauma.


Rebearth Yoga is a trading name of The Rebearth Movement CIC (Community Interest Company), once qualified I'm hoping to be able to work on suggested donations for classes & fees agreed individually for events. More detailed pricing will be available for the new year. Please get in touch to discuss trading & affordability for you, Yoga is for everyone.


What you'll need:


  • An open mind and heart
  • Loose clothing, which wont affect your range of movement and ability to breath freely is great
  • Water Bottle
  • Blanket
  • Blocks (provided at the studio)
  • Your Mat (provided at the studio)
  • An eye pillow for relaxation is a nice option (can be provided)
  • An empty tummy (allow min 1 hr ideally from eating)

Join me as we explore a variety of embodiment practices, developing connections within our bodies and towards our spine.

Connect to the deeper aspects of your body, mind & spirit.
